Richard Samuel “Sam” Howard III, 36 of St. Cloud, Florida passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017. He was born in Bartow, Florida, September 20, 1981, the son of Richard Samuel Howard II and Janie Elliott. He moved to St. Cloud, Florida in 1990 from Lake Wales, Florida. Sam was a Sergeant with the Kissimmee Police Department and a member of their S.W.A.T. Team. He was a member of Team Solo Car Club, a Christian by faith and a Veteran of the United States Army, serving his Country with Honor and Distinction.

Sam is survived by his loving wife: Billie Jo Russell of St. Cloud, Florida; daughter: Unique Shalon Howard of St. Cloud, Florida; mother and step-father: Janie and Jeffrey Surran of Louisville, Kentucky; father: Richard Samuel Howard II of Polk County, Florida; mother in law: Gail Pearsons of Kissimmee, Florida; brothers: Jeffrey Surran (Shannon) of Louisville, Kentucky, Evan Surran of Louisville, Kentucky, Malik Howard of Kissimmee, Florida; brother-in-law: Jamie Russell (Valentina) of Kissimmee, Florida; uncles: William Earl Sanders of Four Oaks, North Carolina, Daniel Sanders of Raleigh, North Carolina, Johnny Holliday of Louisville, Kentucky, Wendell Elliott of Kissimmee, Florida, Sylvester Elliott of Kissimmee, Florida; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation for friends will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Orlando. Services to Celebrate the Life of Richard Samuel “Sam” Howard III will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Orlando, 3000 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida 32805.
