Tribute

Brandon Joseph Goeller, 26 of Kissimmee, Florida passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida. Brandon was diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) at age 5. He grew up with a love for reptiles and origami that he shared with those he encountered. At age 12 he lost the ability to walk and began his life with the assistance of a wheelchair.  However, that transition only emboldened his love for people and he never again met a stranger.  Brandon never hesitated to speak with someone in order to share the story of his salvation and the love of Jesus.  Throughout his journey he would continue to gift his origami creations wherever he went, whether from the paper he always carried with him or sometimes out of a tip left on the table at a restaurant. Brandon never let his inability to walk stop him from enjoying life to the fullest.

His early years were spent growing up in Fort Walton Beach, Florida where he enjoyed camping, fishing, and being around his Grandfather's construction sites.  He continued to excel in his artistic skills and developed many lasting friendships. It was during this time that he was blessed with a beautiful black lab service dog named Layna, provided through Canine Companions for Independence, which was another milestone for his growth and independence.

In 2010 Brandon relocated with his family to the Kissimmee area. Brandon was an active member at First Baptist Church Kissimmee through his youth and into adulthood. He loved to sing in the Choir and always had a song in his heart and a beat in his body.  He developed many lasting friendships along with his own unique sense of humor.  One of his favorite things to do was to go fishing and he spent many hours on Lake Toho or the ponds in his neighborhood.  He loved to play video games with his friends and family, whether it was playing sports or just getting to explore a virtual world. He never missed an opportunity to try something new and do things that he couldn't normally do with his physical limitations. He tutored and was a member of the Book Buddies program at Central Elementary School.  Brandon didn't miss the opportunity to enjoy all that Central Florida life had to offer from the theme parks to airboats.  In 2018, he was blessed with the opportunity to get his driver's license and by 2019 had achieved the freedom of driving his own adapted van giving him the joy and independence that he had never had. Recently Brandon took his love of making things to the next level by developing his skills in 3D printing and created memorable items he shared with his friends and family.

Upon completing high school, Brandon was challenged to do something with his life that would bring glory to God, and he rose to this challenge. He started to spread God's word to the world through his art, with the help of Wycliffe Associates. Brandon's most recent project at Wycliffe Associates began with artists designing concepts for a chapter in the Bible. This is called a “one page per chapter touch Bible experiment”. This project is where Brandon spent most of his efforts in art for translation.  His work will help with the creation of the tool for a book of the Bible to test abroad with deaf and blind people WA already knows are trying to learn God's Word

Brandon is survived by his parents: William Earl and Kimberly Gail Goeller of Kissimmee, Florida; his maternal grand parents: Elton and Mary Jane Pittman of Green Cove Springs, Florida; his paternal grandmother: Cyndy Goeller of Kissimmee, Florida; his brothers: Andrew Goeller of Kissimmee, Florida and Jonathan Goeller of Kissimmee, Florida; his sister Rachel Goeller of Kissimmee, Florida.
