Carlton Glenn Foster, age 83, was born October 28, 1940, in St. Elmo, Alabama, to Herbert G. Foster and Lillian M. Foster, and passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Kissimmee, FL. He is predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Lillian, his stepfather Lacy Stewart, sister Delores Johnson, brother Timothy Stewart. Carlton was a long-time resident of Osceola and Polk counties and will be remembered as a kind man who loved his family, and a devoted son who honored his mother. He loved gardening and working in his yard, growing beautiful flowers and vegetables. He enjoyed fishing with his stepfather. He was an avid baseball and softball player, starting at a young age with the Dundee, FL, Little League and later playing on the Haines City High Hornets baseball team. After graduating in 1959, he went to work for Armour Industries (later US Steel and LaRoche Industries). Carlton retired from LaRoche after nearly 30 years. He continued to play both baseball (pitching for a semipro team for several years) and softball well into his 70’s. He played on six national/world championship senior teams, earned numerous trophies and awards for his outstanding accomplishments on the field. Carlton volunteered much of his time patiently coaching young boys in baseball and young ladies in softball. He is now and forever more on God’s team.
