Carmen Cruz

Carmen Julia Cruz, 84 of 826 Nelson Drive Kissimmee, Florida died on June 8th, 2020 at 4:00 am of natural causes.

Carmen was born to Amalia Perez and Julio Cesar Rios on May 23rd, 1936 in Lares, Puerto Rico. In 1949, Carmen and her predeceased mother moved to New York, New York and began to create a life for themselves. In 1952 Carmen met her surviving husband Jose Cruz, she had two sons and three daughters named Carmen, Gilbert, Hilda, Ruben, and Vanessa, which they adopted later in 1993.

Carmen was an amazing wife, loving mother, grandma, and friend. She was a great homemaker and you always felt love when you walked into her home. She was the prayer warrior you never knew you needed; her prayers covered the ones who surrounded her. She was the valuable puzzle piece that held it all together especially her family. She enjoyed dancing and was so sassy and loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed being a church member at La Nueva Jerusalem church and enjoyed being a part of her church choir family.

Surviving her are her loving husband Jose, sister Sonia, brother Julio, her four children Carmen, Gilbert, Hilda, and Vanessa. Her eight grandchildren Milagros, Elizabeth, Michael, Daniel, Brandon, Tiffany, Jayden, and Alani. Her great grandchildren, Victoria, Matthew, Sophia, Cristian, Aidan, Neriah, Isaiah and Josiah. Finally, her three great, great grandchildren Adrian, Anthony, and Alexzander.

She was the kindest and humble woman and the foundation of what it was to be a Godfearing and she will leave that in all of those she touched. Her legacy and memories will always live on through us.

The visitation is from 2 pm to 6 pm Sunday, June 14th, 2020 at Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel at Conrad and Thompson Funeral Home, 511 Emmett St. Kissimmee, FL 34741, with a service by Rev. Orlando Perez of Iglesia Christiana La Nueva Jerusalen officiating at 5 pm. The burial will follow Monday at 11 am at Rose Hill Cemetery.
