CLIVE ANTHONY WITTER. (TONY)

Tony was born on August 20, 1939 in Montego Bay, Jamaica to Joyce Ionie Witter nee Hutchinson and Vernon Harcourt Witter who are now deceased. He had two brothers and one sister who predeceased him.

He attended Cornwall College in Montego Bay and soon after graduation, he began his career in Hotel Management. Tony was an outgoing and fun-loving person with a passion to pursue his dream in the Hospitality Industry. The first thing he did was culinary training in London. He returned to Jamaica and continued working at the Casa Montego and Casablanca Hotels. His friendly personality, his dedication and his hard work quickly propelled him to several promotions. Tony then joined CDC (Commonwealth Development Corp.), a hotel management company which o?ered him maximum exposure to hotel management in the Eastern Caribbean…. Antigua, St. Lucia, Grenada and Belize.

Tony met his wife, Edna, when he was commissioned to the Fort George Hotel in Belize in 1963. Five years later they were married and headed to Lusaka, Zambia in Central Africa. After a two year stay there he was asked to return to Antigua. In 1972 he decided to return to his native Jamaica, and joined the Hyatt Hotels chain and in 1979 migrated to the United States. His first job was with the Hyatt Orlando but a year later he joined the Magic of Disney World where he stayed for 21 years.


Tony was an avid sports fisherman, an excellent tennis player and while in Belize, he enjoyed playing field hockey.

Tony is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edna, son Marc, three grandchildren and a great grandson, several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends and in-laws.

He will live in our hearts forever thru the treasured memories we’ve shared.
