Rev. C. G. Vickers

Reverend C.G. Vickers, 71 of Kenansville passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. A member of a Pioneer Osceola County Family C.G. was born in Kissimmee the son of Reverend Charlie J. and Ola Boney Vickers and was a lifelong Osceola County resident. C.G. was the 11th of 15 children born to the Vickers family in Kenansville. He was a well know cattleman working as manager for Russell Ranch and the Wye River Ranch. In 1975 C.G. surrendered to the Ministry and Pastored several churches, Calvary Baptist Church in Ft. Meade, Central Baptist Church, Lithia and most recently Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, Loughman, for the last 30 years.
C.G. is preceded in death by Charlie and Ola Vickers, Vida Merle Vickers, Charles Vickers, Jimmy Vickers, Sammy Vickers, Esther Ruth Collins and Emma Lou Story.
Survivors include wife of 50 years, Darlene Johns Vickers; daughters: Carol D. (David) Collins, Darcy D. (Shawn) Morgan; sisters: Mary Lou (Jimmy) Madison, Charlotte Baisden, Becky (Jesse) Ayers, Sandra (Donald) Collins, Faye O'Berry; brothers: Paul (JoAnn) Vickers, Larry (Jessie) Vickers, Wayne (Becky) Vickers, Bruce (Cathy) Vickers; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Funeral Services for C.G. will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the First Missionary Baptist Church, Kenansville, with the Reverend Rodney Rowe and Reverend Gary Munson, officiating.
Active casketbearers: Stoney Vickers, David Palmer, Murray Harvey, Justin Vickers, Wally Collins and Donny Collins.
Visitation for friends will be two hours prior to service time (10:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon) at the church.
Interment to follow the services in Kenansville Cemetery.
