Dale Kuhns, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 90 in Good Samaritan Village Kissimmee on Sunday, August 5, 2018.
Dale was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Ellis C. Kuhns and Daisy May Baker Kuhns on July 6th, 1928. In 1950, he married Ruth Boden Kuhns, whom he would be married to for 66 years, until her passing in 2017. After marrying, they moved to Lake Charles, LA, while Dale served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After his service, he would go on to get a certification in electronics from DeVry Institute. Upon certification and honorable military discharge, he and his family created a home in Lake Katrine, NY, where he began a 35 year career as a computer engineer. He loved playing golf and couple’s tennis with his wife, and the dynamic duo would win many IBM company tennis competitions.
After retirement in 1991, Dale and Ruth relocated to Kissimmee, Florida. Dale was passionate about his volunteer work at Give Kids the World, as well as his involvement in his church, the First Presbyterian Church of Kissimmee.
He is missed by his children, Robert D. Kuhns of Ellenville, N.Y., Judith L. Kuhns of Kissimmee, Fla., and Sandra L. Kuhns of Kissimmee, Fla.; Sharon Davis (predeceased) and his son-in-law Wes Davis of Accord, N.Y, as well as his eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and his many friends.
Memorial Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. 15 Church Street, Kissimmee, Florida 34741.
