David Bruce Rainwater, 76 of St. Cloud, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2020. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Ben L. Rainwater and Martha Rena McCoy. David and his family moved to St. Cloud in 1981. He then moved to Polk County in 1995, moving back to St. Cloud two years ago from Winter Haven, Florida. David was a retired engineer with Martin Marietta (Lockheed/Martin) and an Episcopalian by faith. David was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) and the American Legion. David was a Veteran of the United States Army Serving his country with Honor and Distinction during the Vietnam war. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather.
David is survived by his wife, Madonna Stafford Rainwater of Winter Haven, Florida; his sons: David Bruce Rainwater Jr of Crossville, Tennessee, Mark Rainwater (Christie) of Hanahan, South Carolina and Ronnie Stafford (Jessie) of Zephyrhills, Florida; daughters: Pamela Baker (Robert) of St. Cloud, Florida, Trish Rainwater of Deer Park, Florida, Madonna Stafford of Winter Haven, Florida; his brothers: Charles Rainwater (Kathy) of Rome, Georgia, Joel Rainwater of Rome, Georgia; and his sister: Jenny Rainwater Fricks of Rome Georgia; his loving and adored grandchildren: Courtnay Friedrichs (Evan), Caleb, Isabelle, Isaiah, Cyrus, James, Naomi, Abigail, and Tobias Baker; Caleb Loverde, Daniel, Hayley and Zachary Rainwater; Victoria Bowers, Cody Stafford and Tyler Stafford; 2 wonderful and loving great-grandchildren Amaryah and Nova Friedrichs. David was preceded in death by his first wife Isabelle-Margaret Campbell Rainwater in 1992; and his two brothers: Allan Rainwater and Richard Rainwater.
