Donald Ike Collins Sr. 83 of Kenansville, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 in his residence with his loving family by his side. A member of a Pioneer Osceola County Family Donald was born September 10, 1936,in Campbell City the son of Ike and Agnes "Tissy" Lanier Collins and was a lifelong Osceola County resident.
Donald was retired from Florida Division of Forestry after a 26 years career, he then went to work for Escape Ranch in Kenansville as a wildlife manager and bird dog trainer. He was also a commercial catfish fisherman for many years while working for the state. Donald loved the Lord, family, his church, and anything to do with the outdoors and was a long time member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Kenansville.
Donald married Sandra Vickers on June 27th 1969 and moved to Kenansville in 1970.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Sandra Collins of Kenansville; sons: Wally (Jamie) Collins, Donny (Hope) Collins and Russell Hancock; daughter: Sherry (Alan) Ricker; brother: Freddy (Cindy) Collins; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Donald will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the First Missionary Baptist Church, Kenansville, with the Rev. Dave Wallace, Rev. Walt Lanier and Rev. Eddie Duncan, Officiating. Interment to follow in Kenansville Cemetery.
Active casketbearers will be: Wally Collins, Donny Collins, Keith Collins, Russell Hancock, Alan Ricker and Jerry Burson.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time (11:00 A.M. - 12:00 Noon) at the church.
