Donald was the son of George E. Link and Mary Ethel Tucker Link.
Donald Graduated in 1949 from Greensburg HS and attended Florida State University after serving in the US Naval Air Force as an aviation structural mechanic. He worked the flight deck of the Kearsarge, Oriskany, Wasp, Coral Seas, & the Hornet during the Korean War. He was proud to be a member of the world famous Red Rippers Squadron. Donald made many friends when he owned his Texaco gas station in Orlando and his Wonderwash Car wash in Sanford before he became a service representative for Pitney Bowes.
Donald was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Irene Humphreys Link, his brothers George, Robert, and William and sisters Ethel and Sara and two grandchildren, Mikey and Mark Alan Jr. Don will be sadly missed by those he left behind; his beloved Patricia Toth, his four sons Mark A. and wife Ellen, Donald M. and wife Kathy, Michael S. and wife Donna, David S. and wife Sara and his sister, Dorothy Fetch of Hiram Ga. and 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
White roses will be distributed by Donald’s granddaughter Kristen to symbolize the innocence that has been restored to the soul of our departed loved one.
Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday in Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Bob Reaves officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Osceola County Veterans Council.
