Donald Stephen Love, a resident of Celebration, FL, departed this life on January 27, 2021 at the age of 66 after having a heart attack. He was born on March 19th, 1954 in Tulsa County, Oklahoma and attended the United States Naval Academy, in Annapolis MD. He received his commission in 1976 and achieved the rank of Lieutenant before an honorable discharge. He married his loving wife Linda (Lyn) S. Love on June 4th, 1976. His next of kin are his son Chris Love and his son Alexander Love.
Steve's life was one of brilliance, excitement, determination, kindness, humbleness, and love. Steve served in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1982 and then began working at Westinghouse as a Principal Engineer of Transient Analysis until he retired in 2016.
Steve was an avid athlete. He was a member of the State Champion Norman (Ok) Tigers swim team in 1972. He competed in numerous YMCA Nationals Masters Swimming and Diving Chammpionships with SHY Swim club of Pittsburgh, PA. He had recently taken up distance bicycling, and along with many other feats, completed a triathlon in which he swam across Lake Erie.
Steve was the most honorable, strong, kind, and loving father and husband imaginable. He made friends easily and quickly turned friends into family. He was a highly competitive contract bridge player in a Celebration, regularly participated in local biking groups, and forged indelible bonds. Steve's legacy lives on through his family and friends who already miss him so dearly.
