Donald Edwin Meier Jr.

Donald Edwin "Donnie" Meier Jr., 62 of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2022. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia the son of Donald E. and Shirley Bea Smith Meier. He moved to Orlando 16 years ago from Starke, Florida. Donnie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints on Wetherbee Road, Orlando, Florida. He enjoyed playing video games, fantasy football and loved sports especially the Florida Gators and the Kentucky Wildcats. Donald was also a Veteran of the United States Navy who served his country with honor and distinction.

Donnie is survived by his mother: Shirley Bea Meier of Orlando, Florida, his son: Donald Edwin Meier III and his wife Courtnie Wheeler Meier of Lawtey, Florida; his daughter: Jennifer Lynn Jackson of Starke, Florida; his sisters: Tina Louise Kelley of Orlando, Florida, Sharie Meier Acosta and her husband Miguel Acosta of Orlando, Florida; and the loves of his life his 5 grandchildren who he was so proud of: Trenton, Bailee, Joshua, Lucius and Rachel. Donald is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and a host of friends. Donald was preceded in death by his father Donald Edwin Meier Sr. in October 2001. His life long companion, partner and best friend, Phyllis Peinhardt, passed away in May 2022.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Donald Edwin Meier Jr. will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints , 701 Wetherbee Road, Orlando, Florida 32824 with Bishop Rob Stone conducting. Donald will be Laid to Rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida at 2:00 P.M. following the service where he will be accorded Military Honors.
