Edna Denise Minshew

August 30, 1944 ~ October 18, 2018 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Tribute

It is with great sadness that the family of Edna Denise Minshew announces her passing on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the age of 74 years. She was born in Kissimmee, Florida to Edna and Lewis Hirtzel on August 30, 1944.

On July 28, 1962, she married Willie Frank Minshew at the First Baptist Church in Kissimmee, Florida. Denise and Frank moved to Dallas, Texas in 1965, then to Duncanville, Texas in 1974. Denise was fondly known within the neighborhood as a caregiver; she was always looking out for her neighbors, taking care of them when they were sick and in need. Along with her husband Frank, she was an active member of the International Bow Hunter’s Association in Dallas. After living in Duncanville for 23 years, they moved to Tomball where they spent the remainder of her years next door to her daughter and grandchildren.

Denise loved the ocean, seagulls, collecting seashells, camping, making custard and “warm soup” for her grandchildren. Denise spent her evenings taking long walks and swinging in the backyard while watching the cows across the creek and listening to the sounds coming from the Tomball Little League baseball field.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Willie Frank Minshew, her daughter, Alanna Marie Tynes Garza, 4 grand children, Cameron, Christian, Caidyn and Cassady, niece Alanna and nephews Fred and Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edna and Lewis, her brother Lewis Sidney Hirtzel Jr., and daughter Brenda Marie Minshew.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 21 from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m., at Klein’s Funeral Home in Tomball, Texas. Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home will be arranging the graveside service and burial at 10 a.m. on Sunday, October 28, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 1615 Boggy Creek Road, in Kissimmee, Florida.
