Tribute

My Heather, My Baby, My Life, My Soul
How do you write about a troubled soul, one that has no idea of what beauty they behold.
She was my daughter, I gave her life. I do not know about the road she chose to travel, she kept the distance between us, which makes this story hard to unfold. But here’s the secret, her ears would not conceive of what beauty and awesomeness she possessed but never really believed.
In Gods eyes she was whole, she was unbroken; a vessel of his majestic wonder and made from his very own blue print for all to see.
She is with him now, she is being groomed, all is forgiven and forgotten, no mark left, only his loving stamp of approval one she has so longed for to behold.

Birds are free. They soar high above us effortlessly. With a little imagination, we can soar with them in our minds and, for a few moments, see the world from a different perspective. Heather kept her world from many of us. Her world was not perfect, but nothing is until received by our Lord. Heather and her world is perfect now. She is free. This poem is for her. Fly High Cousin. God Speed.

Blue Bird of Paradise
Beautiful Heather, Blue Bird of Paradise in the sky
Whispering sweet nothings in the wind now
Your daily Zen is eternity, just like your soul
That lights the world in a different way, today.
Beautiful, inside and out; your eyes like a majestic feline, piercing through us.
You touched us, in ways you never realized, but must know now.
From the highest of high vantage point, Heaven.
You are our Florida sunshine, warm medicine against our skin, as you begin again.
Our faces hang low like Spanish moss.
And like Kansas’ prairie soil, our hearts are heavy for our terrible loss.
Our lips quiver, and our hands shake, as we ask God, “Why?”
You shrug and you sigh, “I didn’t die.”
You have gone on to the ONE, to infinity, to light
You have gone on your next journey, to fight your next fight
And your eyes are the stars, lighting up our great night
You have not left us forever, just gone for a while
When we look at each other, we will see your sweet smile
When we laugh, when we love, when we pray, and when we cry
We will think of you Heather, in the sky, flying high.
