Tribute

Iris Lavelle Bosley Brown, 91, long time resident of Kissimmee, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, July 13, 2019 after a sudden and brief illness. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family members.

Iris was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia on April 7, 1928 and grew up an only child during The Great Depression. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Nursing in 1949 from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Huntington, West Virginia. She married Harvey R. Brown (deceased 1981), also from Buckhannon, that same year.

Iris moved to Kissimmee in 1972 from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She established an impressive career in nursing , including 17 1/2 years as Director of Nursing/Night Supervisor at Osceola Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed international travel to observe and study medical facilities and practices in Russia, India, Israel and South America. These trips provided opportunities to earn continuing education credits required to maintain current licensure.

Iris was a steadfast member of Calvary Assembly of God where she became known and admired for her faithful, dedicated prayer life, and the tasty dishes she prepared for the senior citizen's dinners. She delighted in crafting hearty meals where she could nourish people's souls as well as their bodies. She and her kitchen creations will be greatly missed by all. The angels are certainly dining well tonight!

Survivors include her two sons: Rod Brown & his wife, Pam of St. George,Utah and Brad Brown & his wife Nikki of Kissimmee, Florida; two daughters: Jan Brown Fisher of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Beth Brown Cockrell & her husband Bill of Kissimmee, Florida; grandchildren: Christopher Brown of Parawan, Utah, Jennifer Brown of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jacob Fisher of Brookhaven, GA, Amy Fisher Robles of El Paso, Texas, Jessica Burns of Dundee, Florida, Colton Brown of Kissimmee, Florida, Brenna Cockrell of Kissimmee, Florida, Brandon Cockrell of Kissimmee, Florida; great grandchildren: Kaiann Burns and Kade Burns both from Dundee, Florida and Patrick Joseph Robles of El Paso, Texas.

Visitation for Iris will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel, Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home 511 Emmett St Kissimmee, FL 34741.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday July 18, 2019 at the Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel, Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home, with the Reverend A. Samad Ali of Calvary Assembly of God, officiating. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, 1615 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, Florida 34744.

Pot Luck gathering to follow from 1:30 P. M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Calvary Assembly of God, 711 N. Thacker Avenue, Kissimmee, Florida 34741.
