James Andrew Jones

James Andrew Jones, 90 of Davenport, Florida passed away on September 11, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. James A was born on May 12, 1929 in Valdosta, Georgia, to Meady and Clara Limeberger Jones, and was a member of a Pioneer Osceola County of the Jones and Sullivan family. James was a life long Osceola County resident. James A married Carolyn (Wood) on June 27, 1964. James A was a cowboy for many years before starting with the South Florida Water management. James was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Makinson-Carson Post #10 American Legion, Kissimmee, N.R.A. and was Baptist. He was a great carpenter that could build anything if you could draw a picture of it. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He enjoyed life and lived his life doing things for anyone that asked.

Preceded in death by a sister Julia Drawdy and a brother Cecil Sullivan.
James and Carolyn has four children Joseph Jones (Donna), Davenport, Florida; Gene Jones, Davenport, Florida; James”Bud” Jones (Robyn), Davenport, Florida and Kelly Goodson (Dewayne), Davenport, Florida. He has six grandchildren: Jaime Austin (Blayne), Jennifer Arthur (Chad), Steven Goodson, Hunter Goodson, Brittaney Jones, and Chase Jones. He has 4 great-grandchildren Hannah Austin, Mason Arthur, Ryland Austin and Ian Arthur. Is survived by his brothers and sisters Dorothy Martin (Robert), Greene A Jones, Mary Molly Wiley, Lillian Foster (Carl), Buddy Sullivan (Brenda), Fate Sullivan (Sheila), John Holden Sullivan(Debbie). He was also loved by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for James will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Oak Hill Baptist Church, 8060 Osceola Polk Line Rd, Davenport, FL 33896, with the Reverend Rodney Rowe, Pastor of St. Cloud Missionary Baptist Church, St. Cloud, Officiating.
Active casketbearers: Galen Drawdy, Mark Wiley, Chris Sullivan, Tommy Forehand, William Dampier and Glen Dampier. Full Military Honors at the graveside accorded by the Osceola County Veterans Council.
Interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Loughman, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home.
