In loving Tribute

James E. Whittington Jr., age 48, was born on November 24th, 1973 in Zachary, Louisiana and passed away on March 16th, 2022 in Kissimmee, Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife: Bridget Whittington; Mother: Dianne Thompson; Grandmother: Clara Conerly; Sisters: Theresa Dyson, April Davis; Mother in Law: Louise Gurksnis; Sister in Law: Kristina Gurksnis.

James Whittington was a dedicated Husband who always put me first. He would put off what he wanted so I could get what I needed. This love and dedication transcended to his furbabies also. Miya our beautiful Tortie cat, was his heart, as he would say. He was dedicated to her care and happiness. My husband James, was a computer genius, devoted cat dad and overall great human being. He was rough around the edges, but would do anything for you!

He loved nature and animals of all kinds! Snakes, Alligators, cats, dogs you name it. His love of animals always led us to many happy trips to Gatorland in Orlando! We had annual passes for years to Gatorland and that was his happy place. James would say it felt like home with all the alligators, crocodiles, birds, and snakes! It reminded him of his grandfather and the time he lived in Louisiana. He would always talk about his love for his grandfather and how much he would of loved meeting me. I love you James and I am glad you get to be with your grandfather once more. I will always love you and Miya will miss her daddy time, but I know we will meet up again, that is a promise!

I would like to ask, that when visiting Florida, skip the House of the Mouse and visit Gatorland, Orlando, in honor of an amazing husband, son, grandson, brother and animal lover, James Whittington!

Instead of flowers, please consider donating to your local no kill animal shelters. James always went by the saying, Adopt don't shop! Every furry friend we had together was adopted with love from an animal shelter. Please honor his memory, by donating to an animal shelter or adopting.
