Jimmie J. Watford, 84 of Osceola County passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018. Jimmie was a long time employee of the City Of Kissimmee. Starting as a police officer in 1958, he worked through the ranks to later become the Chief of Police, 1975-1982. He also attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He also served as the Assistant to The City Manager where he traveled to Tallahassee on many occasions to lobby for Kissimmee. His efforts contributed to some of the improvements for the city. He retired in 1985 after serving 27 years working for the City of Kissimmee.
In Jimmie's earlier years he worked with his father and brothers in the logging industry. He later joined the United States Marine Corps during Korean Conflict. After leaving the military Jimmie later found himself working for the City of Kissimmee.

Jimmie is predeceased by his father: Nelson Watford; mother: Gertrude Lewis Watford; stepmother: Nellie Watford; brothers: Wallace Watford and Stanley Watford; sisters: Connie Watford and Lou Watford.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years Lou E. Watford who he was happily married and raised his family with. Three sons: Michael (Cindy) Watford, Mitchell Watford and Mark (Priscila) Watford; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life memorial service for Jimmie will be held 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Poinciana Christian Church, 3181 Pleasant Hill Road, Kissimmee, Florida 34746, with the Minister Mike Black officiating. Kissimmee Police Department Honor Guard and The Osceola County Veterans Council will accord honors.
Reception for family and friends will be at the church's Social Hall.
