Jody Steven Lanier

Jody Steven Lanier, 53 of St. Cloud, passed way Thursday, July 5th, 2018. The son of the late Everett Lanier and Marie Hughes Lanier. He was born October 18, 1964 in Haines City, Florida. Jody was a member of a pioneer Osceola County family and was a lifelong resident of the area.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Purcell Lanier; his sons, Chase (Ashley), Dalton, and Denton; his brothers, Jeff (Renee), Jerry (Kimmy); his sister, Jan (Randy) Miller; his grandchildren Cole, Brody, and Riley, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was most well-known for his ability to draw a crowd with his comedic stories about hunting, fishing, and growing up in Old-Florida. His BBQ was consumed and craved by many, and he made sure to pass this tradition on to his family. Jody was, also, known to drop whatever he was doing to help a friend or family member. He always put the needs of others before his own.
Memorial Contributions may be made for Jody to Assistance in Healthcare (Zion) at https://zion.aih.org/donate/. Jody received care at the Cancer Treatment Center in Zion for the last 18 months. He was a true fighter who stayed strong and battled until the very end.
Graveside funeral services for Jody will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 9, 2018, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor Leonard Thompson, Heartcry Chapel, St. Cloud, officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
