Tribute

John Douglas Joyce, age 72, of Celebration, Florida passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, May 28, 2022 after a protracted illness. He was born in Ilford, Essex, England, traveled the globe during employment and immigrated first to Malaysia and then to the United States after retirement. He is survived by his wife, Shelly Joyce (Lipinski); sons Paul Joyce, Neil Jenkins (Joyce) and Michael Joyce; daughters Louise Joyce, Jennifer Joyce and Sarah King (Maloney); daughters-in-law Frances Joyce (Tongue) and Misty Jenkins (Winstanley); grandsons Mark Joyce (Moseley) and Stuart Moseley; granddaughters Lauren Joyce, Willow Jenkins, Katryn Jenkins and Adalynn King; great grandson Myles Moseley; great granddaughters Emily Joyce and Thea Moseley; along with extended family and friends, whom he all loved dearly, named or not. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred Joyce and Beatrice Joyce (Thompson) and Albert Blundell and Rose Blundell (Allard); parents, Sidney Joyce and Iris Joyce (Blundell); and other extended family and friends.

John spent the majority of his professional career working for the same international organization. It was through this career that he was fortunate enough to be able to live in many exotic countries like Malaysia, Spain and China; and met his wife, Shelly, when assigned a position in the United States.

In his youth, John enjoyed playing sports which carried over to a love for F-1 Racing and golfing in adulthood. He was also an avid cruise enthusiast. His passion for racing and cruising further extended his opportunity for exotic travel, as he attempted to attend every possible race and partake in every cruise.

John’s greatest love was being with friends and family at every opportunity. He never traveled without companions and wanted to share each new experience with loved ones. He was fortunate to have too many loved ones to count, we were fortunate to be included in his orbit, and we all know that the world will be a lonelier place without him.

To avoid hardship on the part of his loved ones residing in many different countries, there will be no service or ceremony. John wanted everyone to celebrate his life and their part in it with stories, pictures and memories whenever two or more are together in the future.

If we could have loved you any more…Husband, Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad, Best Mate…you would have lived forever.
