John Murray Overstreet, age 65, of Kissimmee, Florida passed away on January 11, 2022.
A sixth generation Kissimmean, Johnny was born on July 25, 1956. He was the son of Murray W. Overstreet and Rea Overstreet. Johnny graduated from Osceola High School and married Jimmie Ann Elliott, also an Osceola High graduate. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida, and was a proud Florida Gator fan. Johnny worked for the Clerk of the Circuit Court for 35 years in different capacities, retiring as a Chief Deputy IT Director.
Johnny was an Eagle Scout, a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the Silver Spurs. He served on local boards such as Kissimmee Main Street, the Salvation Army, and the Osceola Blue Ribbon committee. He supported the Boys Ranch and loved to play Fantasy Football.
Johnny had a generous spirit and was very committed to his family. He and Jimmie Ann were married for 42 years. They loved to experience new things and visit different places. He loved spending time at his mountain house in Georgia, especially when surrounded by his family.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Jimmie Ann Elliott Overstreet of Kissimmee, Florida; his daughters: Jessica Overstreet Olive and her husband Jack of Kissimmee, Florida; Jill Catherine Overstreet of Kissimmee, Florida; his sisters: Jennifer Tyner and her husband Richard of Wyoming, and Jo Thacker and her husband Clarence of Kissimmee, Florida; one grandson: Caleb James Overstreet of Kissimmee, Florida.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 5:00 P.M.to 7:00 P.M. at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee, Florida with Reverend Rodney Rowe of the St. Cloud Missionary Baptist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
