Maxine Amelia Galon, 79 of Kissimmee, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Maxine was born in Lake Wales, Florida on October 16, 1942 to Clara Adkins. She was raised in Lake Wales for the first five years of her life, then moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1947 where she was raised by her mother (Now, 96) and father, Roy Lee Thomas (Deceased).

She attended and graduated from Kissimmee High School (Now Defunct) in 1960. After graduation, she worked for over thirty years in the food service industry including Osceola County School Board food services. Maxine loved Hallmark movies, watching the news, maintaining a beautiful yard and garden, and keeping her home immaculate and flawlessly clean. She was a gifted artist, decorator and craftsman who loved creating beautiful handmade gifts which she would share with family and friends.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Herman Galon, a Kissimmee Police officer. She was the mother of five children: Clara Brown of Kissimmee, Florida, Anita Carswell (Deceased) (Husband Willie), Roberta Galon of Winter Park, Florida,Herman Galon and his wife Tisa of Kissimmee, Florida and Alverda Galon of Lake Mary, Florida. She is survived by her mother, Clara Thomas of Kissimmee, Florida, her sister: Cheryl Thomas of Kissimmee,Florida ; and nine grandchildren: Arnelle Galon, Charles Dyson Jr., Lenyai Croley, Altamese Brown, Darren Pierson, Jr., Briana Pierson, Emilio Mendez, Emanuel Mendez and Tea Galon. She was also a great grandmother of twelve great grandchildren, and has a host of other relatives.

Maxine was a Christian by faith who proclaimed her love for the Lord at an early age.

A Memorial Celebration of Life Service for Maxine Amelia Galon will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 1:30 P.M. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 602 John Young Parkway, Kissimmee, Florida 34741 with Pastor Remer Baker Jr. presiding.

Maxine was Laid to Rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
