Michael Murphy, 70 of Kissimmee, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at home with his family by his side. Michael was born in Kissimmee, Florida, a member of an Osceola County Pioneer family, he was the son of the Late Ernest Patrick “Kayo” Murphy Sr. retired Sheriff of Osceola County and Virginia Bunting Murphy. Michael was a retired corrections officer at the Osceola County Correctional Facility, and more recently was a security officer at Walt Disney World. Michael was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Kissimmee, Florida. He was Veteran of the United States Army Airborne serving his country with honor and distinction during the Gulf War.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Mara Murphy of Kissimmee, Florida; his sons: Jeffery Scott Murphy (Chandel) of Troutman, North Carolina, Michael Aaron Murphy (Tabrina) of St. Cloud, Florida, Guilherme Filgueiras (Danielle) of Kissimmee, Florida, Daniel Filgueiras of California, daughters: Rebecca Lynn Murphy of St. Cloud, Florida and Sarah Beth Loudermilk (Ike) of St. Cloud, Florida; his sister: Patsy Murphy-Wells (Tom) of Cocoa Beach, Florida; and 12 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 711 North Thacker Ave., Kissimmee, Florida. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Michael Murphy will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 711 North Thacker Ave., Kissimmee, Florida with Pastor Samad Ali officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida 32754 where Michael will be accorded Military Honors. Memorial Contributions may be made to CALVAY ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH FOR MISSIONS AND YOUTH, 711 N. Thacker Ave., Kissimmee, Florida 34741. PLEASE Remember, because of the recent pandemic, necessary precautionary measures will need to be taken, SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE REQUIRED as well as WEARING A FACE MASK at Calvary Assembly Church of God and at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
