Tribute

Monica E. Binette August 28, 1936 – July 14, 2019

Monica Edith Harrod Binette, 82 went home to be with Our Lord on Sunday afternoon, July 14, 2019. She died peacefully in her Kissimmee home surrounded by her husband and loving family members.
Monica was born in Kings Lynn, Norfolk England where she met and married William A. Binette, Airman 2nd Class of the United States Air Force. In 1960 Monica left her home country and family to move to Illinois, USA to be with her husband and to grow her own family. Bill & Monica remained in Illinois to raise their 6 children until Bill retired in 2001, when they exchanged the snow blower for a golf cart and moved to Kissimmee, Florida.

While living in Kissimmee Monica enjoyed golf cart rides, weekly bingo games, knitting & crocheting, playing with her pups and bird, playing cards with the neighbors, and coloring in her bible during her adult coloring class with her “besties” from Church. She loved attending services at St. Luke and St. Peter’s in Saint Cloud where she was a member. She adored her Pastor, Fr. Rob and her entire Church family!

Monica is survived by her husband of 60 ½ years, best friend and Soulmate William A. Binette and her six children, Daughters: Diane Settlemires and her husband Ken, Susan Binette, Tammy Dodson and her husband Durand, KathyJo Krist and her husband Bruce. Sons: John Binette and his wife Martha, Jason Binette and his wife Anne. Grandchildren: Steven Binette, Angelina Santiago, Danniel Dodson, Rebecca Dodson, Larry Mikrut, Cody Mikrut, Stephanie Lave, Meghan Powell, Kristen Bennett, Josephine Binette, Alexandra Krist, Aubrey Krist & Keaton Binette and 16 wonderful great grandchildren plus many “adopted” children and grandchildren plus we can’t forget her pups Chips & Lily and pretty bird Winston.

Monica loved being surrounded by her family whether it was Holidays, a family meal, watching the Chicago Cubs win the World Series or any other Cub’s game for that matter, making sausage rolls, baking, playing board games/card games, dying her hair with kool-aid, watching movies, listening to 50’s music or looking at photos. Her entire family was everything to her!

Our family has experienced a tremendous loss but we are grateful for all the advice, arguments, memories and blessings from our wife, mom, grandma, gigi & gaga! Rest in Peace!!! Love you to the Moon and Back!!

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 2pm at St. Luke & St. Peter’s Church, 2745 Canoe Creek Rd. St Cloud Florida 34772.
