Nelda Virginia Tarcai

Nelda Virginia Tarcai, 93 of Kissimmee, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018. She was born Nelda Virginia Mann on December 16, 1924. A sixth-generation Floridian, Nelda was a member of a Pioneer Osceola County Family,one of three children born to Dessie Samantha Altman and A.G. “Gus” Mann. Nelda graduated from St. Cloud high school in 1942, where she was a cheerleader and member of the Latin Club. Nelda also played for the Osceola High School Band. Nelda married the love of her life, Louis Tarcai, after meeting him when he was an officer in the Army Air Corp during WWII. The two were married for over sixty years before Lou passed away in 2006. Nelda was an active member of her community. She was a charter member of the Junior Women’s Club, a long time member of The Kissimmee Elk’s Lodge #1873 Auxiliary, a long time member of Silver Spurs Club, and helped organize the Kissimmee Pink Ladies in 1968 along with Jean Lupfer- an organization for which she served as the first president. Nelda was also an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and an avid bridge player with a group of local women who played weekly in sickness & in health! Nelda worked as a realtor in Kissimmee and St. Cloud for over 50 years and served as President, Vice President and Treasurer for the Osceola County Board of Realtors. Nelda could also be found working alongside her husband at Tarcai Farm & Garden, playing golf, traveling or dancing the night away. Nelda will be remembered for her loyalty, zest for life, and, of course, her impeccable fashion sense.

She is survived by her three children, Hubert Tarcai, Louis “Buddy” Tarcai, and Teri Tarcai Stonebraker (Garry Stonebraker); as well as her four grandchildren: Samantha Stonebraker (Dr. Daniel Dawson), Steven Stonebraker (Marissa Herdon), Johnathan Stonebraker (Dr. Sarah Irving) and Mari Stonebraker (Andrew Cashmore); and six great grandchildren: Christian, Mattie, Joie, Dessie, Ever and James. She will be loved, always.

Celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel, Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home with the Reverend Cathy Thacker, First United Methodist Church, Lake Alfred, officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior service time (10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M.).
