In Loving Memory of Paul A. Girard Jr.
Poinciana - Paul A. Girard Jr., age 80, of Poinciana, Florida died Sunday, April 19, 2020 at the Orlando Veterans Hospital in Lake Nona, Florida after an extended stay in their Nursing Home. He was born on November 30, 1939 in Providence, RI to the late Paul A. Girard Sr. and Frances (Greer) Girard.
Paul proudly served his Country serving 8 years in the United States Air Force. He retired in 1986 as a 1st Sergeant after 22 years in the United States Army. Paul was highly decorated throughout his career.
On October 25, 1998 he married Barbara (Cole) Caldwell and she survives. Paul and Barbara were members of the Poinciana Christian Church in Poinciana until his illness. They continue their worship at the Veterans Administration Chapel. Paul's children, grandchildren and great granddaughter brought him much happiness and pride.
In addition to Barbara, he is survived by his daughter, Lianne Marques of Seekonk, MA, son Barclay (Emily) Frederick of Seymour, TN and step-son Derek Caldwell of Kissimmee, FL. Two sisters, Pauline (Ernie) Lacharite of Providence, RI and Dolores (Gene) Jutrus of Inverness, FL. Grandchildren Michael Marques, Nicole Coogan, Clay Frederick, Courtney Frederick Dyke, Jaden, Avery and Grayson Caldwell and one great granddaughter, Mila Marques. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Anthony Girard.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 10:30 AM.
