Throughout her life she traveled to church conventions driving across country where she met many individuals who became life-long friends. Pearl was gifted as well as an accomplished pianist. Pearl was recognized for her extraordinary talent in Costume design portrayed in the school's ballet and theatre programs as well as the organ preludes that enhanced the annual off-Broadway production of show Black nativity.

After establishing her business Pearl matriculated to the University of Massachusetts, Boston where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 1982. Following that she was employed in the Boston Public School system until she retired.
