Richard Green

Richard Charles Green, 84, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away on December 16, 2020, while in hospice care. He was born to parents Percy Wilbur Green and Alyce Lillian (Dandron) Green on August 18, 1936, in Clio, Michigan. He was the youngest of three children, having two older sisters Jacquelyn (Jackie) and Wanda. He graduated from high school in Flint, MI in 1954. He worked as a plumber’s apprentice before being hired by General Motors, where he worked in skilled trades as a pattern maker at various locations in Flint and Saginaw for over 25 years, at which point he retired.

He was married to Mary Lou Adams on December 8, 1960. He is survived by his daughter Kimberley (Green) Nick and partner Eric Hansen, and his granddaughter Lorelei Hansen. He was predeceased by parents Percy and Alyce, sisters Jacquelyn and Wanda, and his wife Mary Lou.

Richard loved cars and boats, and loved keeping his vehicles in excellent shape and repair. He had several hobbies as well, notably boating, golfing, and bowling. He and his wife Mary Lou had an active retirement with many friends, and were active volunteers in their community in Lake Fenton, MI. He was a devoted husband, caring for Mary Lou when she was stricken with cancer at the end of her life. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather as well, moving to Virginia and then Florida to be close to his family. He is very much loved, appreciated, and missed.

A memorial service will be on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2 pm at CONRAD AND THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME 511 Emmett St. Kissimmee, Florida 34741 (407) 847-3188. Conrad and Thompson requires the use of masks, temperature check and social distancing as per county health department guidelines.
