Robert (Bob) Hankins Ayres, age 74, of Kissimmee, FL passed away on September 4, 2019 at Celebration Hospital. He was born on March 4, 1945 to Robert and Shirley Ayres in Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland.
Bob retired at the rank of Major from the US Army in 1988, after 20 Years of Service. He received a Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal among others. Bob was a Realtor in Florida for 30 years and was a member of the Osceola County Association of Realtors. He was also a Real Estate Broker. In addition to working in Real Estate, Bob owned a Certified Financial Planning Company in Kissimmee.
Bob is a graduate of Northern Illinois University and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He was a member of the AUSA (Association of US Army), DAV (Disabled American Veterans), VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) SFA (Special Forces Association), MOAA (Military Officers Association), NRA (National Rifle Association), among others.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Katie Ayres of Kissimmee, FL; son, Michael Ayres of Los Angeles, CA; Brothers, Jack (Terri) Ayres of Iowa, and Gary (Florence) Ayres of VA. He held a special place in the hearts of his Cousins, Nieces and Nephew's.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, brother-in law and friend. BOB WAS A GOOD MAN!
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in his name to The Wounded Warriors Project. A Celebration of Life to honor Bob will be held at a later date.
