ROBERT “BOB” D. FELDT, 74, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Florida Hospital Celebration Health in Celebration, FL.

Robert was born June 19, 1943, in Morrison, IL, to George H. and Susie Alice (Boot) Feldt. He was educated in the Garden Plain grade schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. He received his bachelor of arts, chemistry degree from Central College in Pella, IA and then received his masters, chemistry degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. He married Trudy F. Huizenga on June 28, 1969 in Waupun, WI. Bob worked for 4 years at Chemplex in Clinton, IA, and then he was employed at Agri-King in Fulton, IL, for 34 years as a lab supervisor analyst. Bob was a lifetime member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, where he served as a deacon and an elder both for six years. Bob taught catechism, led youth groups, and was a Sunday School superintendent. He was involved with small group Bible study and Sunday School. He was a member of the Fulton Kiwanis Club where he enjoyed beautifying garden plots around town. He volunteered with the Fulton Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels. Bob served on the Downtown Development Board. He was a supporter of Dutch Days and appeared as the Christmas Walk Sinterklaas. He worked as a miller at the De Immigrant Windmill. Bob was an avid bowler and also loved to travel. He was a big supporter of his children’s and grandchildren’s sports and music events.

Survivors include his wife, Trudy; two daughters, Janella (Brian) Johnson of Rockton, IL and Melissa (Jason) Gellings of Appleton, WI; four grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Eric Johnson (Elizabeth Rouse), Alexander Gellings and Alicia Gellings; one sister, Janice (Milton) Bush of Morrison, IL; and one sister-in-law, Marlene Feldt of Highlands Ranch, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond Feldt.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Second Reformed Church with Rev. Scott Stephan officiating. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside will be held at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials to Second Reformed Church, Fulton Gardens Fund, and Volunteer Millers Endowment have been established.
