Roberta A. Eaton
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our treasured and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Roberta “Bobby” Eaton on October 14, 2019.
Bobby was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has two sisters, Lois & Mary. Growing up as a rough and tumble tomboy in this trio of sisters, Bobby was well known for her red curls and affinity for playing outdoors!
While attending school at St. Mary’s Academy, Bobby met the love of her life, Jimmy, in 1957. They married one year later and went on to have five children, Betty, Tom, Katie, John and Lynne. Their lives were filled with family, love, and treasured times.
In 1977, Jim & Bobby moved to Kissimmee, Florida. While Bobby has an unwavering love for her family, she worked for Osceola District Schools as a media assistant and as a studio secretary at James Dance Center. Affectionately known as “Miss Bobby” at the studio, her joy and love of dance began with her youngest daughter, Lynne, and continued for over 30 years as a member of the JDC Dance family.
After Bobby’s retirement from all things “work”, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lovingly referred to as the family communicator, Bobby, remarkably as a member of the white-haired club, was proficient in social media and derived great pleasure in networking with friends and family.
Bobby joins her husband, Jim, and daughter, Lynne, in Heaven. She is survived by Mary Roets, her sister; children, Betty Hittman (Ken), Tom Eaton (Debbie), Katie Eaton, John Eaton (Lora); eleven grandchildren, Jennifer Wiggins (John), Theresa Russell (Jimmy), Nicholas Hittman, Christopher Hittman, Joshua Eaton (Natalee), Zachary Eaton, Paige Eaton (John), Ryan Eaton, Jesse Ratledge, Kaylee Eaton, Kyson Eaton; eight great grandchildren, Bryce Wiggins, Payton Wiggins, Autumn Wiggins, Connor Russell, Trevor Russell, Colton Ratledge, Eli Ratledge, Joshua Killen; as well as many extended family members.
Visitation will be held at Conrad and Thompson Funeral Home, Kissimmee, Florida, on Monday, October 21, 2019 from 5–7 p.m. Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Conrad and Thompson at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Osceola Memory Gardens
Although Bobby is no longer with us in this earthly life, our Mom and Grandma leaves us rich in both love and memories.
