Roger P Jones

Roger Paul Jones, age 69, of St Cloud, FL passed away at home surrounded by family on September 6, 2018. Roger was born on April 12, 1949 to Paul R. and Genevieve Jones of Aurelia, Iowa.

As a youth he was passionate about sports earning Varsity letters from Aurelia High School in Football(4), Basketball(3), Track(4) and Baseball(5). He earned All State selections in all 4 sports along with Band. In 2018 he was named "GOAT" (Greatest Of All Times) of Aurelia High School. He followed in his 'Hall of Fame' father's footsteps going on to compete at the University of Northern Iowa in Football, Baseball and Track.
 
He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kissimmee Rotary, Port Charlotte & Kissimmee Jaycees, Co-Founder of the Great Florida ShootOut, Co-Founder of the Roger Jones Kissimmee Klassic, Proud supporter of Osceola High School Athletics (Wrestling, Softball, Baseball & Football), Central Florida Boys & Girls Club, Coached Osceola County youth in Football, Basketball & Baseball and was named the Kissimmee News Gazette 'Man of the Year' {1989}.

He retired after 20 years of managing Don Olsen Firestone to follow his passion by opening CamBroc Sports in 1991, fulfilling local youth, adult and high school team apparel needs. He retired in 2015 to spend as much time as possible with family and friends at home and on the golf course.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty Ann Jones; Sons; Kevin Jones (Michele and granddaughters Kali, Kelsey, Kara) of Kissimmee, FL, Kirk Jones (Karrie and grandchildren Matt (Danielle), Tobie, Lee, Kurtis, Jadyn and great grandchildren Bailey, McKenzie, Skylar) of Haines City, FL, Keith Jones (Monica and granddaughters Ellie, Allie, Eryn and great granddaughter Everly) of Sparta, GA, Brock Jones (Misty and grandchildren Karlee, Kelin, Kloee, Kamee, Kacee) of Carroll, IA, Daughter; Cami Jones Foster (Brandon and grandchildren Marley, Brody) of Jacksonville, FL; Stepson Kraig Kristich and grandson Kieran of Miledgeville, GA; Brothers Bruce Jones (Deena) of Aurelia, IA, Ron Jones (Sue) of Aurelia, IA; and sister Janis Gifford (Tom) of Kissimmee, FL and numerous Nephews, Nieces and Cousins throughout the country. Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Gen Jones, and brother Clayton Jones.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church 3016 W. Vine St, Kissimmee, FL 34741 with Pastor Bob Schmalzle presiding. The family has established the Roger Jones Athletic Scholarship (Lady Kowboy Softball Club PO Box 422811 Kissimmee, FL 34742)
