Shirley “Lee” Leroy Sheive passed away May 13, 2019. He was born July 21, 1926, to Lloyd and Gladys Sheive in Millerton, Pennsylvania. His early years were occupied with school and working the family farm with his parents and brother, Ed. He was later employed by LaFrance Fire Equipment Company in Elmira, New York. He then became partners in Shappee & Sheive’s Meat Packing Plant in Pine City, New York. Always putting others before himself, he worked as a volunteer fire fighter in Pine City and was a member of the New York Army National Guard. Lee and his beautiful wife, Marlyn “Molly”, relocated their family to Kissimmee in 1978 opening up Sheive’s Meat Packing Plant, until his semi-retirement in 1989.
Baptized in Elmira, NY, he was a loyal member and leader in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for nearly sixty years.
He is survived by his wife, Marlyn “Molly” (Voorhees) Sheive, whom he married on October 29, 1948. They had five children, Loretta (Lynn)Hall, Lucille (Jim)Plumley, Randy (Becky) Sheive, Kathy (Tom)Quiqley and Rodney(Michelle) Sheive. They were blessed with ten grand children, twenty great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Lee will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel, Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home, 511 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, 34741, with Pastor Ronaldo DaCunha and Deacon Don Gray officiating. Interment to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee. Active casketbearers will be: Rodney Sheive, Randy Sheive, Jim Plumley, Lynn Hall, Tom Quiqley and Caleb Calhoun.
Visitation for friends will be one hour prior service time (10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M.) in the chapel.
