Tribute

Tanya Ann Burrage, age 48 of Kissimmee, FL passed away suddenly on October 26, 2020. She was born on May 17, 1972 in Hammond, IN to George and Leona Laird. She worked as a maintenance supervisor in the environmental services industry. The world, family and friends mourn the loss of a truly blessed soul. Tanya was taken away from us far too early. She passed away after a hard month of fighting the Coronavirus. She fought so hard, the first week at home and another 3 weeks in the hospital battling this horrible virus. She never quit trying and people never stopped praying for her. Every single person that knew her all wanted to her to win this fight. Unfortunately, in end it just proved too much for her body to overcome, her spirit would not allow her to stop trying. This loss has created an incredible void in all those that knew and loved Tanya.

Tanya was a loving and caring person to everyone that she met. There are so many things that could be said about Tanya and her love of life, the joy she gave to everyone around her. Tanya was easy to like, and love. Every person who knew her was touched in some special way by her kindness, sense of humor, concern for everyone around her. It would be easy to write a book about how special and caring Tanya was. I do not believe there are enough words in the English language to adequately convey the feelings people had towards Tanya. Anyone who knew her, felt blessed.

As her husband Michael Burrage, I thought the sun and moon revolved around her. We were married for only five short years, August 1, 2015. I swear that they were the best years of my life. We did everything together. She was my best friend, my rock, my love, my everything and she completed me. I have many pictures of us laughing and enjoying life together, but they are not enough. We had so many plans for the future, but somehow I will continue to live my life the way she wanted. I could write line and line about all the great things we did together and what we planned still to do. It is so hard to put in this short description what I thought of her and how special of person she truly was to me.

She loved her family and her friends. She had a special love for all the grandchildren. At every opportunity, she would travel to see her family, and get together with friends. She would spare no expense to bring her grandkids to Florida to visit and stay for a week or two. She would spend her money from her lottery tickets winnings to provide them with every happiness that she could. She gave to anyone and everyone that she was able to help. As her husband, I believe we had a perfect marriage and friendship, and life. There is no way to tell you how much I will miss seeing her face first thing in morning and kissing her goodnight each night. I always wanted to know how much I truly loved her.

It would not be fair to skip over what an important part of her life that her career was to her. She worked at Republic Services for over 15 years. She had just received a promotion to maintenance supervisor at her own site in Palm Bay. She had worked very hard to make this step in her career and she was so proud of it. She loved all the of the technicians she worked with , and her Maintenance Manager Charles whom she held in the highest honor and respect. I cannot tell you how many times she would share stories of their daily interactions. It was clear to anyone that Tanya was incredibly proud of her work and she would spend extra hours ensuring that every task was finished completely and accurately. You could not know her without knowing how important she felt about her career.
