Tribute

Thelma Sellers Harvey, 94 of Kenansville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. A member of the Pioneer Osceola County family, she was born the daughter of Otis and Gertrude Sellers and was a lifelong Osceola County resident. Going to church was the highlight of her life. She was a faithful charter member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Yeehaw. She loved tending her vegetable garden and flowers as well as baking treats for her friends and loved ones. Thelma has nurtured everything God has given her to tend. She was an exceptional mother and cared for her handicapped son for over 53 years. In the time period that no services were available for children with special needs, she drove her own vehicle prior to the county providing a vehicle, to transport several special needs children from Osceola County to Orange County for services.
She had the privilege to share the role of Grand Marshall for the Kenansville Centennial Parade a few years ago. She attended school in Kenansville in the 30's and has provided a "wealth of information" and support to the Kenansville Museum located in the old school building.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband: L.J. Harvey ; son: Wayne Harvey and son-in-law: Duke Outlaw.
She is survived by two daughters: Sylvia (Carl) Teel and Marilyn Outlaw, both of Kenansville; four grandchildren: Leslie (Malayna) Teel, Lara (Justin) Houghton, both of St. Cloud, Lianne Teel of Kenansville and Sara Beth Outlaw of Waterford Lakes; eleven great grandchildren: William McCoy, Jessica McCoy, Daniel McCoy, Hannah Teel, Brianna teel, Landon teel, Carley Teel, Tyler (Kate west), Makayla (Kyle) Berlinsky, Lacie Stark and Sorrel Houghton; three great great grandchildren: Ryatt West, Wylder West and Harper Berlinsky; Sister: Isabell Miller of Port St. Lucie; brother: Joseph (Jake) Sellers of Tallahassee; and many nieces and nephews.
