Theodore Joseph Matuella, 85 of St. Cloud, Florida passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was born in Hazle Township, Pennsylvania, the son of Joseph and Helen Lapinski Matuella and moved to St. Cloud, Florida in 2016 from Freeland, Pennsylvania. Theodore was a retired mechanic for an electrical manufacturing company (Wagner Electric - Tung Sol) and also an aide working with the mentally challenged at the White Haven Center. He is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in St. Cloud, Florida. He was also a member of the St. Cloud American Legion Post 80 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) Post # 3227 in St. Cloud, Florida and American Legion Post 473 in Freeland, Pennsylvania. Theodore was a Veteran of the Unites States Navy Serving his country with honor and distinction during the Korean Conflict.
Theodore is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Joan Matuella of St. Cloud, Florida; son: Theodore G. Matuella of St. Cloud, Florida; daughter: Nicole Roeder of Allentown, Pennsylvania; brother: Joseph Matuella (Jacqueline) of Pine Grove, Pennsylvania; sister: Margaret Jugan of New Coxeville, Pennsylvania; 2 grandchildren: Sara and Emily Lamana.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 700 Brown Chapel Road, St. Cloud, Florida 34769 with Fr. Kent Walker as Celebrant. Theodore will be laid to rest on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida where he will be accorded Military Honors.
