Vera Freitas De Jesus Henriques, 92, of Orlando, FL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 23, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Madeira, Portugal she lived a full life of travel and adventure. She met Luiz Henriques shortly before he left Madeira for Mozambique, Africa. She married him by proxy and left her home and family to live in Mozambique with Luiz, the love of her life. They had five children, and after living in many different areas of South Africa they eventually moved to the United States. Upon arriving in New Jersey, Vera got a job as a seamstress. She was a dedicated mother, loving wife, hard worker and was a selfless woman of great faith.
Vera is survived by her five children, Ana Schmaltz of Orlando, FL, Odete Atha and husband Dave of Woodland Park, NJ, Antonio Henriques and wife Jane of Orlando, FL, Sandra DaRosa and husband Elias of Kissimmee, Fl, and Miguel Henriques and wife Pauline of West Nyack, NY. Vera was so very proud of all of her grandchildren, Sarah Sales, Philip Sales, Jennifer Ferrer, Susan Henriques, Kelly Henriques, Kevin Schmaltz, Christopher DaRosa, Matthew DaRosa, Timothy DaRosa, Adam Henriques, Seth Henriques, Joshua Henriques. Vera was blessed with several great grandchildren, Jorge Ferrer, Benjamin Ferrer, Jasmine Ferrer, James Miller, Abigail Torres, William Torres Jr., Oliver DaRosa, Olivia Vera DaRosa, Jason DeMicco, Aubrey Sales, Kaylee Sales, Layla Javar, and Noah Schmaltz.
Visitation is Monday, February 25, 2019 from 4-6 PM with services at 9 AM, Tuesday February 26, 2019. Interment will be at RoseHill Cemetery. The family is being cared for by CONRAD AND THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME 511 Emmett St Kissimmee, FL 34741 (407) 847-3188
