Vivian Mae Flowers Brinson was born in Woodville, Mississippi on February 9, 1932. She was the last of six siblings born to Claudia and Larry Flowers Sr., all of whom preceded her in death. Vivian married her World War II pilot sweetheart, Ed Brinson, in July 1955. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last week. Vivian and Ed had a long wonderful life together, and their joy was complete with the addition of their son, Haynes, in 1968. It was a long wait for Vivian to get her child, a wait that she thought might never end. Haynes was the joy of her life. Vivian was a graduate of Delta State Teacher's College in Cleveland, Mississippi, and together with her almost 1000 students over 40 years of teaching in the Osceola Public School System, children were the focus of her life. Vivian taught so long that eventually she was able to teach grandchildren of some of her first students. It always pleased her when former students stopped her in public to say hello. Vivian went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 after a sudden and abrupt decline. She passed away in Kissimmee, Florida where she had lived for almost 70 years. She was 88 years old. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in Mississippi, and by her son Haynes Brinson, daughter in law, Georgia Brinson, 5 grandchildren: Anelise, Pinckney, Elsa, Mills and Gabriel Brinson. Her beloved husband preceded her in death on December 21, 2016.
