Wanda “Faye” Whitehead Cox, 73, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Kissimmee, Florida died peacefully in her home on January 2, 2020. Born on the 4th of July, she is preceded in death by her parents Horace J. Whitehead, Vivian C. Hackett, her step dad Charles Hackett, her late husband of 28 years, Thomas L. Cox, brother Elton Whitehead and son Kevin Cox.
Faye was a loving mother and homemaker residing in Boise, ID. She often spent time with her family enjoying the scenery, listening and playing the piano, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing card games. She spent most of her life in Florida, raising kids, grandkids, grand-dogs, caring for elders, sewing and cooking, She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Kissimmee, Florida. Her patriotism was exemplified in her life. She was active in church and devoted her faith to God.
She is survived by her brothers Wilton Whitehead, Milton Whitehead, and sister Kaye White. She is also survived by her daughter Sherril (Brian) Maisey of Idaho, son John (Jamie) Sullivan of Idaho, and daughter Julie Elakram of Idaho. She has 3 grandkids and 6 great-grandkids.
Visitation and Funeral services will be held at Conrad and Thompson Funeral Home at 511 Emmett St. in Kissimmee, FL on January 23rd at 10:00 AM. With a service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Tim Wilder of the First Baptist Church of Kissimmee officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee, Florida. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research and/or Shriner's Hospital for children in loving memory of Wanda “Faye” Whitehead Cox.
