Eugene Paul Marciniak

Eugene Paul Marciniak, 94, of Kissimmee, Florida passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Chicago, Illinois January 8, 1923 and was the son of Paul and Frances Marciniak. Eugene moved to Kissimmee in 1984 from Des Plaines, Illinois after his retirement as Housing Consultant for the City of Evanston, Illinois. Eugene was a graduate of Loyola University and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Illinois and past President of the Lions Club in Evanston, Illinois. He served as a social worker for public housing for the elderly, ministered to the aged and terminally ill, and started an interracial senior citizens center in Illinois. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kissimmee, Florida. Eugene was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving his country with honor and distinction during World War II.

Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, of Kissimmee, Florida; sons: Frank Marciniak (Nancy) of Memphis, Tennessee, Larry Marciniak (Janet) of Bartlett, Illinois, Peter Marciniak (Jeannine) of Park Ridge, Illinois, and Joseph Marciniak (Cindy) of Naperville, Illinois; stepdaughters: Betsy Isaacson (Nathan) of The Villages, Florida, Janet Lykowski (Leonard) of Bartlett, Illinois, Victoria Fitzgerald (Sean) of Portland, Oregon; daughters: JoAnne McDaniels of Carol Stream, Illinois and Mary Lebedun (Alec) of Fairfax Station, Virginia; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Eugene was predeceased by his brother, Raymond, his wife, Joan, and his sons, Edward and John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1603 N. Thacker Avenue, Kissimmee, Florida 34741. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery where he will be accorded military honors by the Osceola County Veterans Council.
