Charlie was always such a delight to see or talk to. My family needed assistance and he was there for us! He stood as the positive male role model for my son. Charlie ended up being much more to us than just a CASA worker in MD (my son was 1 of the boys mentioned that he worked with). He became our long term family friend and attended family functions right along with the other grandparents n our family! Our older family members recognized him and invited him into our company as part of! We loved Charlie! To hear how he served our country is just so typical Charlie, altho I only knew of a few services he was involved in--he certainly would not have ever revealed all his credentials for he was just too modest a man to boast (not that any of us would have perceived it as such--hed never take that chance of being viewed that way. We loved him and would have loved to listen to all his experiences!).
He shared stories of his beloved wife and family....I came to feel like I knew his kids and their families! What a treat it was to have such a strong man as our family friend! Florida put distance in the mix a bit but we all still maintained regular contact for several years. He seemed so happy down there closer to his loved ones.
Thank you all so much for sharing such a wonderful man with us, the Lewis family. It truly was an honor and such a special treat to have been able to walk thru some of this life with him close by and always available to my son. Thank you to the Mullen family. My God heal your pain from losing him. He loved you all so deeply and he shared his pride for you all,at every chance.
Rest in peace Charlie. We will miss you💔😒

My condolences to the Mullen family. I pray you find comfort in knowing that even though we may loose a loved one in death, God will bring back to life all those found in his memory. (Job 14:15 John 5:28, 29 Acts 24:15) Yes, we have the hope of seeing our loved ones again, and the life to be enjoyed when this takes place will be truly wonderful. (Revelation 21:3, 4)

It’s taken me some time to visit this site but , thankfully my Uncle Joey mentioned how important it was for me to see !!!!!!! It was a much needed walk down “MEMORY LANE “ ...... My Pop Pop was a great man as you could see ; but some u didn’t like every summer he took his time to open our (me & my siblings) minds to things that our country was founded on !!!!!! I wish things were better between us in the end but all I can do is pray for your peace !!! It fills me with joy to KNOW you are up there with My Nanas and My Mommy !!!! Until we meet again love you !!!?

We would like to give a special Thanks to my Godfather Joe Madden for sending me on a much needed and very well thought trip down "Memory Lane" !!!!! Because of my motherly responsibilities and the kids school we were unable to attend the services and it stinks .... Pop Pop, I hope you always knew as stubborn as I may have been I have always loved you so very much ...... We are glad you are now up in heaven in peace with my Nanas and My Mommy ......, I will miss you and never forget all you taught me and will pass on it your grandkids.. Mwaaa

Charlie was a great friend, mentor, and safety place for my children Chris and Jacob Carter. I'm so grateful to God for putting Charlie in our lives. He will be greatly missed. I can't even put in words how thankful I am and I told him every time I saw him. I hope he really knew how much he was loved. He was an angel here on Earth and now he will be a great one in heaven also.

My loyal friend and colleague leaves this world a better place through his unselfish deeds to others. Charlie leaves many of us who learned to respect and love him on his journey of life. May the Lord keep Charlie in his loving hands for eternity. Miss you old friend. You will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace.

Farewell to an old and dear friend and colleague. Charlie was a good man, a man who lived to help others. There are many youths in Florida who will live a better life because of him. Our condolences to Charlie's family. We lost a true gem when Charlie passed. Requiescat in pace.

I met Charlie when he came to work at SSA. He was my boss for many years, but also became a dear and loyal friend. He was truly a good, kind-hearted man. And he had a great sense of humor ... he could always make me laugh. The world was a better place with Charlie in it. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. God bless you, Charlie.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family. I hope you all will take comfort in knowing that Charlie is now with his beloved Pat. I have no doubt that the two of them are loving and laughing in Heaven.
