I am Nancy Wilkins , Jessica Alsups mother - Derek's fiance and just would like to say a few words Derek was a son to me ! I have known him for many years and he was such a blessing to have in our lives and he will truly be missed more than words can express ! I will remember his smile which would light up any dark day and his sense of humor in which would always change a bad day to good and his thoughtful kind spirit and loving heart for he always gave more than he recieved so Derek you are loved so very much and will be missed more than words can express ! You are in Heaven with your Father and with my mother Beverly and your beautiful son little Derek so be at peace and many hugs and kisses to you and would like to Thank you Derek for being a part of my life and my daughter's life because you brought more joy and love to our lives than we could have ever imagined so dance with the Angels now and rest in peace ! My condolences to the Parsons family. I pray you find comfort in knowing that even though we may loose a loved one in death, God will bring back to life all those found in his memory. (Job 14:15 John 5:28, 29 Acts 24:15) Yes, we have the hope of seeing our loved ones again, and the life to be enjoyed when this takes place will be truly wonderful. (Revelation 21:3, 4)

My Heart goes out to the Parsons family! I met Derek through my son Mike who was also friends with Paul at the time.I have watched them all grow up and I know that a lot of his friends a hurting now as well as his family. He was loved and I'm sorry we are not in the area to pay our respects. My Prayers and Love to you ! Debi Jones

My deepest condolences to Derek's friends, sisters, brother, daughter and parents. When I think of Derek I have one very vivid childhood memory of running around Aunt Jeanne's pool barefoot and carefree. Running, laughing, playing and swimming. Enjoying the heat and freedom of summer. That is how I will always remember Derek.

I only had the opportunity to meet Derek once, as he was Jessica Alsup's boyfriend at the time.
Left a very positive impression. His sense of humor, his positive outlook on life and his caring about the well-being of my daughter Ashley Wilkins, Jessica's sister.
